Posters and social media posts

When you come to Chevella today, please take selfies with the banyans and post them on social media with the hashtag #SelfieWithChevellaBanyan, as a mark of friendship with these trees. 🙂

Deepavali under the Chevella banyans! The day has come when we will acknowledge the grandeur of these mighty trees, spend time under them, and light lamps to express our support to them. May this Deepavali be Vrukshavali!
There will be brief talks on the historical and ecological significance of the Banyans and the birds that dwell on them. We will then take a pledge to cherish and protect Mother Nature, before dispersing for the many activities that have been planned. We can tie hearts and threads of protection around the banyans, we can make posters pledging our support, we can sketch, take photographs and revel in the magnificence of the banyans.
We conclude by lighting lamps and singing "We Shall Overcome"/ "Hum Honge Kaamyab" under the banyans.
Please bring eco-friendly diyas and string to tie around the banyans. Do follow Covid protocols, and be careful when you light lamps. See you there!
