A small group of citizens, 'Nature Lovers of Hyderabad', has been leading the campaign to Save the Banyans of Chevella, through petitions, civic actions, representations, and now - an effort to geotag all the banyans on the Chevella Road.
The geotagging initiative is part of a larger effort to save what is a unique stretch of old trees in their original habitat and mark them as a part of the state's natural heritage and unique biodiversity.
