Padayatra by nature lover 'Desham kosam' Prakash begins

Social activist and environmentalist, 'Desham Kosam' Prakash has undertaken a Padayatra from Warangal to Chevella to draw attention to the fact that nearly 700 banyan trees are at risk on account of the proposed widening of NH-163 from Mrugavani National Park to Manneguda.
The walk was flagged off at 10 am today by distinguished writer and Sahitya Akademi Award Winner, Dr. Ampasayya Naveen. Previously, a pamphlet was released by the president of the Kaloji Foundation, Nagilla Rama Shastri.
Speaking to the press, Prakash said that the banyans of Chevella are a part of the natural heritage of Telangana, and all nature lovers should be united and request the authorities to save them.
The Padayatra is expected to reach the outskirts of Hyderabad on Thursday, 5 January 2023.
